The Philadelphia series of almanacs entitled Father Abraham's, by "Abraham Weatherwise," give David Rittenhouse as their calculator on the title pages of the issues for 1775-1778. Subsequent issues do not have this statement, but the entire series through 1785 is attributed to Rittenhouse by Evans through extension, without further justification. He attributes the present almanac to Rittenhouse because it bears a similar title and the same pseudonym. Its calendar pages contain no resemblances to the Philadelphia almanac for 1782, and Rittenhouse is not known to have calculated almanacs for any New England publisher

The eclipse predictions are an expanded version, with identical calculations, of those in the New England almanack and gentleman's and lady's diary by "Edmund Freebetter," the pseudonym of Nathan Daboll, published at New London. On the calendar pages, the calculations for the moon, and one third of the astronomical and horological notes, duplicate those in Daboll. The calculations for the sun and tides, and some of those in the notes, have been adjusted. The present almanac is apparently a version by Daboll for the meridian of Boston

It was also issued by Webster as Bickerstaff's New England almanack, and by Nathaniel Patten at Hartford under the same title, with identical contents. The latter of these editions was attributed by Evans to Benjamin West
